Life and Times of a Pharmacy Tech.

Just another BlogPharm weblog

My anti-tech.

My problem tech has officially become an anti-tech. She does not learn! I try and try to help her by showing her how to do things over and over, but she seems to forget as soon as I finish talking.

Every problem she has she just works on by herself, not asking for help, gets frustrated as sticks it in the exception queue and doesn’t tell anyone about it, and I don’t find out till the customer is there yelling at me for not having it ready. Usually its a minor insurance issue (putting in a group where you don’t need one, leaving out a person code) that easily fixed in a few seconds.

I spent half an hour showing her how to do a Part D lookup. If you work in a pharmacy this is essential. I learned it my first week training in another store. That was about 6 months ago. She was hired about the same time. Six months and she still hasn’t learned how to do it.

Then today she cancels a sale to the customer and forgets to take the item out of the bag. Customer walks out with stuff he hasn’t paid for. Thankfully it was fairly cheap.

I try and try, but its like training a new employee every day…
